Must have a 4 door car??? What if I have a 2 door hatchback? :( I would definitely do this on Saturdays for a couple of hours.

Wouldn’t a semi truck with a trailer still be a 2-door vehicle? Or what about just a 2-door pickup? You could certainly store a ton of packages that way lol.

What’s interesting is requiring it be a “mid-size sedan or larger.” No hatchbacks, then. I’m not sure if that’s just because they’re trying to appear up-market or if it’s something else. It would seem normal for someone to show up in a Focus, right?

I’m going to investigate. I think it might be entertaining. The car I’d use is my ‘90 Corolla with 230k miles and
manual transmission
(+1). I think the pay is very light, however, and likely to be harder on the car than Über would be, with all the starts and stops.

My guess would be that the car size has to do with package size. (That is, size of packages being delivered, not the size of the driver’s package.)

But that’s still pretty short-sighted... I can fit a much bigger parcel in my Fiesta than in my friend’s Accord.

I remember back in 2013/2014 when Amazon was using the bigger national courier services to deliver from the UPS/FedEx/USPS location to the house..
It was the worst, they wouldn’t even walk onto the porch and place the package and ring the doorbell, they would throw it from about 10 feet from the steps to my door. I was so pissed.

It’s interesting to watch how Amazon is disrupting the delivery behemoth companies’ business. Amazon spent over $11
billion
on deliveries last year. If you worked for UPS or Fedex and took an Amazon package to the door, you’d be earning more than $18-25, you’d be earning benefits, and you damn sure wouldn’t be paying for the gas, insurance, brakes and tires.

Interesting. I’ve seen more than a handful of 2015 Ford Focuses in Amazon Prime Now paint scheme driving around Seattle; I didn’t know they were up to something more (but I’m not surprised).
